TRAINER

Dr. Mangesh Karandikar has over 30 years experience in media.
He started his career in marketing of pharmaceuticals and then in electronic products. He got introduced to computers in 1990, which took him on an exhilerating career journey.
He started his business with graphic designing and printing. When people were wondering what Internet was, he learnt and started his web designing business and made several website. He then learnt programming in C, C++, Java, Oracle and Visual Basic, and started another venture in interactive CD ROMs.
This introduced him to filmmaking. He assisted several filmmakers and then ventured into a very successful filmmaking business, specializing in Corporate Films.
On invitation, he started teaching in the University of Mumbai, where he realised that he had found his calling in the field of teaching. He joined the University of Mumbai's Department of Communication and Journalism, and started Web Designing and Filmmaking in the University in 2005. He earned his doctorate in media and communication in 2013. Dr. Karandikar then moved from the University into private service and recently has returned to the world of business having taken a very early retirement from service as Director, MET Institute of Mass Media. He has taught more than 1000 media students the art of sound editing in March - April 2021, more than 200 business people, 150 children, and over 200 educators the skill of filmmaking during the period of pandemic and lockdown, helping them utilize their time effectively.
